Jersey-Friendly Yards Website – Create a Healthy Yard and Garden Using Jersey – Friendly Plants and Practices

< Back to JFY Projects

Jersey-Friendly Yards, jerseyyards.org, launched in August, 2015, was created by Barnegat Bay Partnership in 2015, and piloted by Ocean County Soil Conservation District. This website offers homeowners and gardeners simple tools to create a low maintenance, eco-friendly yard and garden.

The website features a plant database consisting of over 300 native and Jersey-Friendly plants to choose from that are just right for the conditions in your yard or garden. The user-friendly tools and resources offered on the website support gardeners in the planning, design and creation of their own “Jersey-Friendly” yard, garden or landscape.

Whether you have sandy or clay soils, well-draining or poorly-draining soils, acidic or alkaline soils, sun or shade, there is a selection of Jersey-Friendly plants that will thrive in the specific conditions of your yard. Visit jerseyyards.org and learn how to create your own Jersey-Friendly landscape!
