Map of the Sun Garden on display at Jakes Branch County Park.

What is a Sun Garden?

Do you have a sunny yard with southern exposure? A sun garden consists of perennials, grasses, trees and shrubs that thrive in areas that receive 6 or more hours of direct sunlight daily.

The map above shows a selection of native plants best suited for a sun garden. Visit the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service PLANTS database to see and learn more about each plant.
