Map of the Wet Garden on display at Jakes Branch County Park.
What is a Wet Garden?
Do you have an area in your yard where the soil is consistently damp, where water constantly puddles, or an area with heavy moss coverage? A wet garden consisting of specific native perennials, trees and shrubs may be a perfect fit.
The map above shows a selection of native plants that can be used to create a wet garden. Visit the USDA Natural Resources Conservations PLANTS database to see and learn more about each plant.
Only the seed pods of the Rose Mallow remain in October.
Volunteers help plant the wet garden.
