Important Update Regarding Covid-19 & State Employee Furloughs

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 health emergency, the State of New Jersey has instituted mandatory furloughs for its employees. The New Jersey Department of Agriculture provides various coordination and oversight services to New Jersey’s Soil Conservation Districts, including those of overseeing engineering activities performed by Districts as part of the Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Program, N.J.S.A. 4:24-39 et seq.

During the time periods of July 13-17 and July 20-24, Department engineering staff will not be available to provide responsible charge oversight to Soil Conservation Districts. During that period, District staff will be limited to non-engineering related duties associated with the Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Program. This may result in delays in processing erosion control application reviews or certain types of site inspections, as per the SSCC Furlough Guidance Memo 2020
